Find out more about various form of anxiety attacks
By Alex Christie (BA Hons, LCHE, MARH, B.Inst.A.T.)
Anxiety attacks arise from several disorders:
Panic disorder, when you live in fear of having an anxiety attacks and their accompanying symptoms, which might include feeling you are going to have a heart attack, die, or go insane.
Social anxiety disorder where you fear social situations.
Post-traumatic stress disorder after witnessing or experiencing something that was life-threatening, or may have caused serious injury, where you repeatedly re-live the events in your head.
Obsessive compulsive disorder brings with it obsessive thoughts that may cause the person to go through rituals they believe will keep them safe, such as cleaning, washing, turning off the gas etc; general anxiety disorder causes persistent excessive anxiety about situations that may or may not arise.
Anxiety attacks fall into three types: spontaneous anxiety attacks, which occur without warning and are not related to the activity or situation you are in at the time; cued anxiety attacks that are triggered by feared situations and places you find yourself in; situation-triggered anxiety attacks when anxiety or panic arises occasionally when in a specific location but where there is no fear associated with this situation.
Symptoms of anxiety attacks may include difficulty breathing, sweating, trembling, palpitations, nausea, dizziness, and fear of death amongst others.
The Sedona Method® can help you overcome your anxiety attacks by teaching you to feel, recognize and dissolve emotions in moments. Even overwhelming emotions such as fear can be easily released by using the Sedona Method®. Not only will you learn to feel and recognize your emotions, achieving emotional intelligence, but you will see what is driving them, and you will be able to let these feelings go from the root. The more you do this, the more you will become the master of your emotions, and your anxiety attacks will become a thing of the past.
The Sedona Method® differs from other methods in that you can use it anywhere, at any time, whatever you are doing. If your anxiety attacks happen while you are driving you can use it to dissolve the anxiety as it arises in that moment. If your anxiety attack arises during an interview, you can release your anxiety as you sit opposite your interviewer. Releasing emotions is an internal process which enables you to simply dissolve any emotion, anxiety or fear as it arises - and no one can tell what you are doing.
There are many emotional states that are highly uncomfortable and lead us to feel we are not in control of our lives, including anxiety attacks, panic, grief, anger and depression. The feeling that we have no control over these emotions can lead us to feel helpless, hopeless and even ashamed. Even these powerful emotions can be released once you learn the tools of the Sedona Method®.
