Are you a garlic allergy sufferer
A few people do suffer from garlic allergy. Symptoms of garlic allergy vary but often include stomach upsets after eating garlic, heartburn, flatulence, rhinitis, and inflammation of the skin and rashes from either eating or coming into physical contact with garlic.
Even if you don't have an allergy to garlic, consuming or being exposed to too much allicin (the substance released from crushed garlic) can cause skin irritation, reddening and even blistering.
Garlic allergy may also worsen asthma symptoms, although this is more usually related to breathing in garlic dust rather than eating garlic.
If you believe you might suffer from garlic allergy I suggest you have yourself tested by a qualified kinesiologist in your area. Often people have other allergies of which they are not aware, which it is helpful to identify. Garlic is difficult to avoid as many products contain garlic, but do not state either garlic or allicin as ingredients on the label, and it is a regular ingredient in restaurant meals.
It is possible to desensitize yourself to allicin with a homeopathic desensitizing remedy. This would significantly reduce, if not eliminate, the symptoms of your garlic allergy, putting you less at risk of the unwanted symptoms from consuming garlic.
