Homeopathy - what more could you want in a medicine?

Homeopathy is a gentle, safe, and effective system of medicine. The remedies in homeopathy are derived from natural substances including plants, minerals, metals and certain poisons that offer healing properties. Remedies are made from a very small amount of the active ingredient using a process of dilution and succession (vigorous shaking) so they are safe, non-toxic, and non-addictive. The medicines are prepared in licensed laboratories under strict control and can be given in tablet, granule or liquid form. A homeopathic remedy acts as a signal which energizes the body’s self-healing powers. Homeopathy is safe for anyone, including babies, children, pregnant and breast-feeding women, the elderly, and the chronically ill.
Helping the body heal itself
Homeopathy aims to help the body heal itself. Homeopathy does not just treat the symptoms but helps you deal with the root cause of the illness in order for you to regain good health. A Homeopathic consultation focuses on the whole person so that remedies can be selected on the basis of all aspects of the patient – mental, emotional, as well as physical. This means that treatment is highly individual.

How long does treatment take?
This depends on your complaint. Acute states such as coughs, colds, fevers, childhood illnesses, and emotional upsets can respond rapidly to homeopathy, while long-term illnesses will need longer treatment. So a fever may respond to the remedy within 30 minutes to a few hours, allergies will take a few weeks to clear, and heart pathology will take months to fully treat.
Can Homeopathy work together with orthodox treatment?
Homeopathy can be invaluable if you are taking medicines or undergoing any orthodox treatment. For example, cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiography can suffer devastating side-effects. Homeopathy can alleviate the side-effects and greatly enhance the patient’s quality of life during such treatment.
